While I the class was experimenting with the colours of light I quietly placed first a yellow gel filter and then a blue filter in front of the webcam to see if they would notice the change in the colour tint. They only noticed when I took it away and drew their attention to the differences. We talked about how the magneta and red filters increased contrast in the image because they let only the brighter patches of light through.
