Weeks 8 and 9: Meandering and Meaningful

desmanteler-OL

I discovered that the word dismantle has its origins within the word dismanteler, from Old French, meaning to remove a cloak from.

In turn the definition of mantle revealed the words “a loose wrap or cloak… anything that covers completely or envelopes” and I could do nothing to escape visions of the work of Christo and Jeanne Claude.

So, that’s exactly where we invested a considerable amount of time –

viewing and discussing.

I said nothing by way of explanation, except that what we were looking at constituted a lifetime of work by a pair of artists.

I simply asked questions.

We engaged in beautiful and meaningful meanderings.
